WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) Beatles songs replaced traditional hymns tonight at a church in Warren.
Christ Episcopal Church hosted its third annual Beatles Mass.
This year, it was called Here Comes the “SON.”
Church leaders traded in their white robes for tie-dyed ones.
They also joined the congregation, singing classic Beatles hits such as, “All You Need is Love” and “We Can Work it Out.”
Christ Episcopal puts on the mass as a way to invite the community to church.
“It’s non-threatening, people love the beatles, so we’re trying to make an invitation to the public to check out Jesus. Jesus is cool,” said Rev. Jeff Baker, Christ Episcopal Church.
The band “Mainstreet Lions” played and sang the Beatles hits.
The church also took a special collection at tonight’s mass for four-year-old Ashlynn Juhasz } who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
