WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Girl Scout cookie season is under way as tens of thousands of cookies are arriving in the area this week.
This week’s deliveries include the orders placed with Girl Scout troops last month. Troops throughout the area rely on the sweet fundraiser every year for girls’ activities.
It’s ultimately up to the troop members to decide how to use their cookie money.
“It helps the girls build leadership skills and goal setting. That helps them in the future. A lot of the girls like to plan a big trip at the end of the year or maybe there is a community service project they would like to support,” said Sabbrina Landers of Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio.
