Lauren Wood is the weekend anchor on WYTV 33 News.
She began working here in October of 2013, after marrying her high school sweetheart and moving to northeast Ohio.
Prior to joining the WYTV team, Lauren worked as an anchor and reporter at WSAZ-TV in Huntington, West Virginia. She grew up just an hour away from Huntington in Cheshire, Ohio, a small town in the southeast part of the state.
Lauren got her start in television at WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio, where she worked as a producer for four years. She also worked as a reporter at the Columbus NPR station, WOSU 820-AM.
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the Ohio State University in 2009, and is currently pursuing a master’s in Media Management at Kent State.
Lauren and her husband enjoy cooking, travel, going to the movies, bible study, and spending time with family.
Lauren’s favorite thing about her job is getting to meet people and helping them tell their stories.
She’s thrilled to be in the Valley and loves to talk, so if you see her out and about be sure to say hello. You can also drop her a line on Facebook or Twitter.
