Two fires may be connected

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A house fire early Tuesday morning kept crews busy in Youngstown.

The fire broke out about 2:30 a.m. at a vacant house on Delaware Avenue.

Crews allowed the house to burn to the ground, making sure the flames did not spread to other structures. The intense heat did damage the siding on a neighboring house.

Earlier Tuesday morning, a garage burned to the ground on Norwood Avenue, near Wirt Street. The home next to the garage was empty.

Youngstown Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Ron Russo said the cause of the fires is under investigation.
