Car slides underneath semi

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Three people were injured Wednesday afternoon after the car they were in crashed into a tractor-trailer.

The crash occurred about 2:20 p.m. on state Route 46 at Interstate 80.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Bryan Brady, 20, of Lowellville, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier south on Route 46 in the right lane. A 2007 commercial semi driven by Gordon Rousseau, 34, of Galesburg, Mich., was attempting to turn north on Route 46 from the Interstate 80 eastbound ramp when the vehicles collided and the Cavalier became lodged under the semi.

The patrol said Brady and his passengers, Rex Morrison, 18, and Tyler Dunn, 23, both of Lowellville, were extricated from the vehicle and taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown with serious injuries. Rousseau was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
