Hooker helps New Castle remain undefeated

New Castle used scrappy defense and a balanced offense led by Malik Hooker, to take down North Allegheny, 64-54 in the PIAA Second Round Wednesday.

The win improves New Castle (AAAA) to 28-0, and marks the third victory over the Tigers this season.

Malik Hooker scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished out 7 assists. Stew Allen also recorded a double-double with 12 points, and 10 assists.

North Allegheny was led by Cole Constantino with a game-high 32 points, but it wasn’t enough, as their season comes to an end with a 22-5 record.

New Castle, the second ranked team in Pennsylvania, will face the winner of Hampton and McDowell in the third round this Saturday.
