Arrest made in fatal hit-and-run

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WKBN) — A New Castle man was arrested Thursday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on New Butler Road two weeks ago.

Steven David Fraley, 29, of Beckford Street, was arraigned on charges of accidents involving death or personal injury, criminal attempt-tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, failure to give information or render aid, failure to report an accident, vehicle registration, driving without insurance and operating a vehicle without official inspection certification. He was released from the Lawrence County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Fraley was identified March 3 as a person of interest in the death of New Castle resident Charles Walter Bobro, 55, on Feb. 28. The accident happened about 10:30 p.m. as Bobro was walking east along New Butler Road near a Red Apple supermarket. The westbound driver hit Bobro and then drove away.
