Jury finds Johns guilty of rape, kidnapping

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — A jury found Kevin Johns, 23, of Cincinnati, guilty Thursday of rape, kidnapping, and having weapons under disability in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Johns took the stand during his trial Wednesday morning.

Johns was accused of rape, kidnapping and aggravated robbery of a 21-year-old woman on Kenilworth Avenue S.E. in Warren last April. Johns is looking at a possibility of 28 years in prison, according to the Trumbull County prosecutor’s office. A sentencing date has not yet been set.

The jury began deliberating Wednesday night.
