Tractor accident leaves one man dead

ENON VALLEY, Pa. (WKBN) — A tractor accident killed a man from Enon Valley Sunday evening.

Robert Mattocks III was logging a property along Mud Ridge Road, just off State Line Road in Lawrence County.

Pennyslvania State Police say Mattocks and another person had been on the property working Sunday.

Mattocks was on a tractor, pulling logs behind him when the accident happened.

Troopers tell us Mattocks had two or three logs chained together, and was dragging them.. when they dug into the ground, and pulled the tractor to a stop.

Mattocks’ foot was still on the gas, and that caused the tractor to flip up.

It did a wheelie– then brought the front end over the back, and landed on top of Mattocks.

He was crushed to death.

The Lawrence County Coroner pronounced Mattocks dead just before eight Sunday night.

He was 36 years old.
