Boardman bust nets heroin and other drugs

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A drug bust in Boardman netted heroin, marijuana plants and prescription drugs.

Acting on a search warrant, officers with Canfield and Boardman police busted into an apartment on Stadler Avenue Tuesday morning where they found several drugs, marijuana plants and other drug paraphernalia.

According to a police report, officers entered the apartment of Brian Malysa, 30, of Boardman on suspicion of drug activity taking place at the residence.

Police knocked on the door of apartment 1A about 8:30 a.m. and didn’t get a response. The officers forced their way through the door and found Malysa walking from a back bedroom.

A search of the apartment uncovered less than one gram of heroin, 13 marijuana plants, a scale, prescription drugs, and drug abuse instruments.

Malysa was placed under arrest and charged with four counts of drug possession and one count of cultivating marijuana.

No one else was in the apartment at the time of the arrest.
