Mancini contract up for auction

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — A piece of local boxing history is going on the auction block.

An original contract from Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini’s fight with South Korean boxer Duk Koo Kim will be auctioned off March 27. The 13-page document details the conditions for the championship bout held in Las Vegas in 1982.

Kim slipped into a coma after Boom Boom knocked him out in the 14th round. Kim died a few days later.

Bidding for the contract starts at $2,000. The online auction is being handled by Nate D. Sanders.
