Grand jury indicts man on child rape

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Green Township man has been indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury for the rape of a 9-year-old girl.

Robert Seman, 45, of 6468 Calla Road, is currently being held in the Mahoning County Jail on $350,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 27.

Goshen Police arrested Seman after the victim’s mother contacted police March 10 to report that her daughter told her Seman had been engaging in sexual conduct with her for several years.

Mahoning County Children’s Services was contacted to assist and interviewed the victim. After the interview, Seman’s 2-year-old daughter was taken from him and placed with family members. The Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office then charged Seman with rape.
