Autism Society of Mahoning Valley hosts awareness event

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — The Autism Society’s Mahoning Valley Office hosts an “autism and disability awareness” fair at the Eastwood Mall for folks to learn about different resources in the community.

Educational workshops include the latest and greatest apps, transition planning, and educational options for children on the spectrum.  Organizers say it’s an opportunity for parents to check out local organizations and service providers all in one place.

“Families need to know that there are many options out there we know that children with autism and children with disabilities are not all the same so the services that could help them are not all the same as well.  It’s not a one size fits all approach and we have a great selection of resources today to help families see the different things that are out there,” said Jen Gonda, Mahoning Valley Circle of Friends.

For more information on services available you can check out the Autism Society of Ohio’s website or give them a call.
