Man charged with inducing panic

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Warren man is accused of inducing panic after witnesses say he was walking down the street waving a pellet gun.

Melvin White, 52, was arraigned Tuesday morning and pleaded not guilty to charges of inducing panic and having drug paraphernalia.

His bond was set at $15,000. A pretrial is scheduled for April 8.

Police say White was walking along East Market Street Monday afternoon, near CVS Pharmacy, waving a gun in the air and carrying a duffle bag. Officers stopped White in front of Sunrise Pizza and Restaurant.

He is currently being held in the Trumbull County Jail.
