Unpaid taxes, public urination on record for Columbiana Co. Commissioner candidates

COLUMBIANA CO., Ohio (WKBN) — Dan Bailey and Nathan Walker will both be on the May 6 primary ballot in Columbiana County, duking it out to be the Democratic Party’s candidate for the county commissioner’s job.

However, that is not the only thing the two have in common: both have had trouble with the law.

A store owner caught Walker urinating in public in 2007, according to a police report.

The State of Ohio Department of Taxation ordered Bailey and his brother Christian to cough up over $27 ,000 in sales tax they owed in 2012, according to court records. A court case also found, in December 2012, that the brothers owed over $10,000 to Joe Hand Promotions, Inc.

According to the police report, Charles Davis, the owner of Jackson’s Market, called police after seeing Walker urinate on the property where his store was located on May 27, 2007. Walker was charged with public indecency and put in jail on $250 bond.

Walker commented on the incident, saying he paid his fine and the issue is over.

“It was a mistake,” he said.
