DAYTON, Ohio (AP) – A southwest Ohio soccer coach has been sentenced to seven years in prison after he was found guilty of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Thirty-eight-year-old McKenna Jordan told the court at his sentencing in Dayton Thursday that he would continue to deny the charges “till my dying breath.”

A jury convicted Jordan of one count of rape and three counts of sexual battery in January for the crimes in 2012.

Jordan coached boys and girls soccer teams for the Warrior Soccer Club in the Dayton suburb of Huber Heights, but officials said his crimes were not related to his role as coach.

The victim asked for maximum sentence of 26 years, saying she would continue “fighting for my life, my dignity and my self-worth.”
