Garden show includes crafts and antique appraisal

Home and Garden show

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Spring is here and if you need some ideas for a new project around your house, Austintown is the place to be this weekend.

The 8th annual Greater Youngstown Home, Garden and Craft show is underway at the Austintown Expo Center located in the Austintown Plaza.

There are 150 home show exhibitors. Promoter Dominic Baragona with Mid American Events said they are trying something new this year by adding a craft show. He said the idea was successful at a show in Sandusky and wanted to try it here.

“I had to fill space, so I added a craft show to that and it just went crazy. I said the natural thing to do would be to add one here to Austintown, and the crafters really responded well. We are totally booked with crafts.”

Also as part of the event, spectators can bring antiques to the show to be appraised for free. Dave Dangerfield with Dangerfield Auctions will examine items Saturday and Sunday from  p.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission is free. The show runs until 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
