Sharon man killed in Columbiana County crash

A trooper in Fremont was sentenced for showing pornography to a 12-year-old boy.

LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — A Sharon man died in a one-vehicle traffic crash Friday morning after he struck a stop sign, a construction barrel and crashed into the Damascus Friends Church.

The Lisbon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Thomas Trowbridge, 52, was driving a 2011 International box truck south on state Route 534 just before 8 a.m. when he went through a stop sign at the intersection of Route 534 and U.S. Route 62. The patrol said Trowbridge continued south and went through a second stop sign at the intersection of Morris Street and Walnut Street, where he went off the road and struck the sign, barrel and church.

He was taken by the Damasus Fire Department to Alliance Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
