Youngstown State internship program opens doors for students

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration held its spring internship program Friday.

More than 100 students met with 25 local companies — from accounting and marketing firms to finance and business administration employers.

Roughly 43 percent of WCBA graduates complete an internship through the school’s Professional Practice Program. WCBA internship advisor Christina Costello says, in many cases, these internships lead to jobs in the Mahoning Valley and keep students competitive with their peers.

“Right now, between Akron and Kent State and YSU, since there’s so many opportunities, the employers have a good pool of students so, we want to make sure our students have every opportunity,” Costello said.

YSU’s business college will host another internship program in the fall.
