MCCANDLESS, Pa. (AP) – Allegheny County police remained at a home in the Pittsburgh suburbs after two young children were reportedly found unresponsive in a bathtub.

Police did not immediately release the names of the children or other information.

The children were taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

The children described as preschool-aged by neighbors were reportedly discovered in the water about 10 a.m. McCandless is an upscale suburb a few miles north of the city.

Police haven’t said if they believe the children were bathing or entered the water for some other reason.

Forensic crews were still processing the scene after noon.
