Motorcyclist killed in Youngstown crash

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — One person is dead following a motorcycle accident near downtown Youngstown Tuesday evening.

The Youngstown Police Department responded to the Glenwood Avenue exit off Interstate 680 South just before 6:30 p.m.

Officers said it appears the driver lost control on the exit ramp, flew off the motorcycle and hit the guardrail. The bike landed up the embankment about 60 yards away.

The lieutenant investigating the accident said there were long skid marks on the exit ramp, but he would not confirm if speed was a factor.

The name of the driver was not released. Officers said this is the first fatal motorcycle accident in Youngstown for the year.
