Health inspector turns in license, faces discipline

Cicero Davis

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown Health District met Wednesday to plan its next move after its director of environmental health surrendered his license last week.

Cicero Davis’ duties included restaurant inspections. He was accused of not performing some inspections and falsifying documents. He admitted to the allegations when he gave up his license.

While he has not been fired, because he no longer holds a license, his duties have been curtailed and his fate in the office uncertain.

“It could be termination, suspension, all those mentioned. But again, he does not have a registered sanitarian license through the state of Ohio anymore,” said Acting Health Commissioner Erin Bishop.

Davis is on paid administrative leave.
