Bond set for Struthers murder suspect

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) —  Struthers murder suspect Matthew Alexander, 26, was arraigned Friday in the early Thursday morning shooting death of his roommate, Matthew Molnar, 34.

His bond was set at $500,000 and no court date has been set yet.

Police said they found Molnar’s body in a home in the 100 block of on Renee Drive.Neighbors said they heard arguing and fighting.

Struthers Police Chief Tim Roddy shed some light Friday on what the two men were doing before the shooting happened. He said the men were out drinking at various bars, but their level of intoxication and any other drug use is unknown.

Police said Alexander and Molnar were roommates for the past several months and they also worked together at Molnar’s business, Steeletown Motors.

Alexander turned himself into Southwest Mercer Regional Police on Thursday and he also was treated for injuries at a Farrell hospital.
