Hooker & Arbanas named All-State

Malik Hooker

New Castle standout Malik Hooker and Hickory’s Nikki Arbanas were named First-Team All State Friday.

Hooker, who averaged 21.8 points per game, helped lead the Red Hurricanes to an undefeated season, and a Class AAAA State Championship.  Fellow teammate Anthony Richards was named Second-Team All State.

New Castle Head Coach Ralph Blundo  was named AAAA Coach of the Year.

West Middlesex Junior Trey Staunch was named Second-Team All State in Class AA, after averaging 21.8 points per game.

Arbanas led the Hornets with 19.6 points per game, helping lead her team to a record of 27-1 and an appearance in the PIAA Class AAA Quarterfinals.

Kennedy Catholic’s Taylor Hood earned Third-Team All-State honors in Class A.  She averaged 12.2 points per game on the season.
