COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) — The Ohio Department of Transportation has updated its list of road closures and construction projects for Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
Until further notice, state Route 11 under Leffingwell Road in Canfield Township has various lane restrictions for bridge repairs through mid-April. The work is the beginning of a $7.9 million project to resurface Route 11 between the Columbiana County line and U.S. Route 224. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early August 2014.
From Tuesday until April 11, state Route 14 just south of state Route 165 in Goshen Township will be reduced to one lane for drainage repairs. The restrictions will be in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Starting Monday until further notice, U.S. Route 62 between U.S. Route 422 and Belle Avenue in Youngstown will have various lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is the beginning of a $1.7 million resurfacing project, which is scheduled to be completed by August.
Also starting Monday until further notice, the following lane restrictions and ramp closures will occur through early September in Youngstown:
- The U.S. Route 422 bridge over U.S. 62/S.R. 7 will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
- U.S. 62 northbound ramp to U.S. 422 westbound will be closed. The detour will be Albert Street. to West Rayen Avenue.
- U.S. 422 eastbound to U.S. 62 northbound will be closed. The detour will be U.S. 422 to Oak Street to Albert Street.
This work is the beginning of a $1.7 million project to re-deck the U.S. 422 ramp over U.S. 62/S.R. 7. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September.
Beginning Monday, the U.S. 62 bridge between South Avenue and Himrod Avenue over the Mahoning River, Poland Avenue, Cedar Street and the railroad will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs as part of a $17 million project to make repairs to the U.S. 62 bridge in Youngstown. The project is expected to be completed by June 2016.
Starting April 14, S.R. 534 between U.S. Route 224 in Berlin Township and the Trumbull County line, and U.S. Route 224 between the Portage County line and state Route 534 will have various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. This work is part of a $3 million project to resurface U.S. 224 and S.R. 534 in Mahoning, Portage and Trumbull counties.The entire project is scheduled to be completed by September.
The ongoing Interstate 680/U.S. Route 224 project in Poland and Boardman continues, with U.S. Route 224 between I-680 and Tiffany Boulevard reduced to one lane in each direction for widening and interchange modifications. ODOT said motorists should expect delays in the area until the entire $5.4 million improvement project is finished by late October.
Starting Monday until further notice, Mount Everett Road under Interstate 80 in Hubbard Township will be closed through mid-October 2016 for road construction. The detour will be U.S. Route 62/State Route 7 to state Route 304 to Bell Wick Road.
Also, Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound over Mount Everett Road in Hubbard Township will have various lane restrictions for bridge repairs as part of an $11.8 million project to replace the two bridges on I-80 over Mount Everett Road. The entire project is scheduled for completion by October 2016. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph through this portion of the interstate.
Mayburn Corners Barclay Road over Sugar Creek between state Route 5 and Burnett East Road in Kinsman Township is closed through late June for a $455,000 bridge replacement. The detour is Burnett East Road to state Route 5. The project is scheduled for completion by August.
