Youngstown Diaper donations help tri-county families

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Eight thousand diapers: That’s how much a local group wanted to raise Friday for their diaper bank, which helps tri-county families.

Making Kids Count held a fundraiser Friday at the Covelli Centre as they were collecting the goods. They hand out 4,000 diapers each month.

The drive wrapped up at noon.

“Kids need clean diapers,” Making Kids Count Co-President Jana Coffin said. “And if anyone buys diapers, they know how expensive they are, so we’re filling an unmet need in the community. There’s no diaper bank in the area that distributes diapers.”

Those who dropped off a donation got a voucher to an upcoming circus show at the Covelli Centre.
