Sports Media Watch releases basketball results

A study by Sports Media Watch examined the ratings from nearly 1,000 college basketball games broadcast nationwide in 2013-14. Of the 942 games on ABC, CBS, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FOX, FS1, Fox Sports 2, and NBC Sports Network, only 9 contests drew a rating of 2.0 or higher.

In its’ first season, FS1 outdrew games on ESPNU and approached ESPN2 in total viewers, despite the fact that the network is in nearly 20 million fewer households than ESPN.

How did YSU’s game fare against St. John’s on December 21? The 2 PM tip on FS1 drew 47K which tied the James Madison at Hampton game for viewers on NBCSN.
