CBS reporter visits Warren to tell his story

Steve Hartman, a CBS reporter known for finding others' stories, told his own in Warren Wednesday.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — CBS’s Steve Hartman was in the Valley Wednesday as part of the Trumbull Town Hall Celebrity Lecture Series.

Hartman is an award-winning reporter known for his feature series “Everybody has a Story” and most recently for CBS Evening News’ “On the Road.”

Before speaking at Packard Music Hall, Hartman sat down for an exclusive interview with WKBN. He talked about why he loves his job, where he comes up with his stories, and how he can tell when it’s a good one.

“I’ve been doing this for so long, telling features at the national level and the local level. I feel like I have told every story there is to tell so as soon as I hear one that I have never done before or is unfamiliar and catches my interest, that is the story I want to tell,” Hartman said.

Hartman started his career in Toledo.
