Warren convenience store robbed

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Warren police are searching for two men who robbed a Convenient Food Mart on Elm Road early Thursday.

According to a police report, an employee of the store located at 1409 Elm Road said two men wearing blue jeans and dark hoodies came into the store around 2 a.m. and brandished a silver colored semi automatic handgun. The pair ordered the clerk to give them money from the register. The pair then fled north on Larchmont Avenue.

Officers searched the area of Larchmont but were not able to locate the suspects. According to the employee, the suspect armed with the gun stood in front of the register and demanded money while the other suspect went behind the counter and took several packs of Black and Mild cigars. He then went over to he register and took money out of the drawer.

It was not known how much money was taken. A customer who was also in the store at the time was robbed of $17.

Police said the suspects are described as 6′-1″ and having thin builds. Police said the suspects dropped a $1 bill in a driveway at 1368 Larchmont Ave. The dollar bill was taken into evidence. Police are also reviewing security cameras of the incident.
