Easter egg hunt draws hundreds

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Hundreds of kids from across Youngstown came out for an Easter Egg Hunt on the city’s south side on Sunday.

St. Dominic’s Church partnered with New Bethel Baptist Church and the ICU Block Watch for an Easter Egg hunt for neighborhood kids.

The egg hunts were broken up into groups according to children’s age. The prizes included bicycles, coupons and candy.

Organizers said generous people from throughout the community donated prizes and candy for the event.

“I just think it’s wonderful. And I think St. Dominic’s is the one that hosted it. I think it’s just a wonderful thing for the community,” Bobbi Tubbs of Youngstown.

“It’s a great community-building event. It’s good, healthy activity for the kids,” added Gregory Maturi of St. Dominic’s Church.

Several hundred kids showed up for the Easter Egg Hunt. The church plans to make it an annual event.
