Event sold out for Inspiring Minds

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – One Warren organization has been giving students the support they need to succeedfor over eight years.

Inspiring Minds held its annual fundraising gala Saturday night at St. Demetrius Community Center.

Tables were full of current and former students and business and city leaders

General Motors presented a check to the organization for $7,500. Inspiring Minds uses the money to provide meals, tutoring, college visits, professional development and scholarships to students in the Warren City Schools, but they want to do more.

“There is no better investment than our young people, and it is good that inspiring minds has been able to show people where their money is going,” said Executive Director Deryck Toles. “When our students come back and you can see that they are interning at NASA, and you are seeing that they are class president and getting 4.2 GPAs; I think people really appreciate that their money is going towards a good cause.”

Saturday night’s theme was the Inspired Tastes America Road Trip featuring cuisine and culture from coast-to-coast.
