McNally announces changes at Youngstown City Hall

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown Mayor John McNally announced Wednesday that Dana Lantz will continue in her role as Youngstown City Prosecutor, while Assistant Prosecutors Kathleen Thompson and Shelley Freeze will continue as assistant prosecutors.

McNally also announced that he will appoint an additional city prosecutor by the end of April. The mayor, who also is a licensed attorney, wants to have four attorneys on the civil side and four on the criminal side to have a good balance.

“It does help the caseload. It helps the operations of the court on the criminal side and our civil side is always involved in pretty much everything that’s going on. I think four will be a sufficient number for me,” McNally said.

Deputy Law Director Anthony Farris announced that he will leave his post April 23, 2014, according to a release. McNally will name Farris’ replacement by the end of April.

Farris has taken the law director’s position in Cleveland Heights.
