Pipeline project under way in Mahoning

MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) — Work on a fuel pipeline project is under way in Mahoning County.

Sunoco is boring a new pipeline through Berlin Township, Canfield and Springfield Township. The 12-inch line transports petroleum products and replaces a line that is more than 80 years old.

Commissioners OK amended pipeline agreement

Mahoning County Engineer Patrick Ginnetti said the company will try to minimize traffic impacts.

“We will hold Sunoco accountable for any damages they incur on the roads during and after the construction,” Ginnetti said.

The engineer’s office said there’s no timeline for the project’s completion.
