Pompelia not renewed at JFK

Warren-JFK-Sports-Generic

The Diocese of Youngstown has announced an open search for a new head boys basketball coach at John F. Kennedy Catholic School in Warren. Shawn Pompelia was not offered a contract as the boys basketball coach for the upcoming 2014-2015 season because of “differences in coaching philosophy.”  Pompelia served as head coach for the past three seasons and helped to rebuild the basketball program.

“I am thankful to Shawn for his years of service and commitment to the Kennedy community,” stated Brian Sinchak, school president.

As required by contract, the position will be posted with the Diocese and applications will be reviewed by a school search committee. The school will make an announcement about the appointment of the new head coach once it has been finalized.
