Hubbard diner continues to rebuild

HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) —  A Hubbard landmark that was destroyed by fire almost two years ago is slowly being brought back from the ashes.

The outside of the Emerald Diner on Main Street has been nearly restored to its original self.  The inside is still under renovation.

When finished the diner will have more room thanks to an addition on the building.

Owner Jim Marsh tells us he has been searching the country for old dining car parts to restore the building.

Some parts, could not be replaced and had to be fabricated. Marsh says while it’s a painstaking process, he want to make sure it is done right and it could be back open in eight to 10 months.
