-Calgary was the most dominant team in the regular season last year as they completed a 14-4 mark, three wins better than the next closest team. However, Saskatchewan got the better of the top seed by knocking the Stamps out of the playoffs (35-13) in the Western Division Finals. The next week, the Roughriders captured a 45-23 victory over Hamilton to secure the 101st Grey Cup win.
-The CFL’s Most Outstanding player award was given to the Stampeders’ third-year running back Jon Cornish. The Defensive Player of the Year was awarded to Ohio’s own Chip Cox (LB) of Montreal.
