YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — At Thursday’s Youngstown City Council meeting, officials put their support behind an issue on the ballot in the May primary.
State Issue 1 is a renewal amendment that will help cities across the state with infrastructure projects. The amendment will allow Ohio to borrow more than $1.8 billion over 10 years.
“Council is putting their full support behind Issue 1 because it creates money needed for infrastructure, roads, sidewalks, which are dearly needed inside the city,” said 5th Ward Councilman Paul Drennen.
Similar amendments have been approved by Ohio voters in 1987 and renewed twice since then, once in 1995 and once in 2005.
