Austintown Burger King robbed at gunpoint

Robbery at Burger King in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Three employees of the Burger King in Austintown were terrified after they were held up at gunpoint Thursday night.

An employee and the manager were securing doors about 11 p.m. at the Burger King on Mahoning Avenue when a man and a woman forced themselves through the doors.

According to police reports, the manager yelled,”Intruders, intruders!” The male suspect wielded a knife and yelled, “Everyone down!”

The man and woman forced the employees into the kitchen area and the woman grabbed the manager by the arm and took her to the office. Once in the office, the woman held a gun to the manager’s head and demanded all the money in the safe and drawers.

The man kept the other two employees in the kitchen at knife-point.

The woman came out of the office with over $3,000 in cash. The man grabbed the manager’s cell phone and set it for three minutes and told her not to call police or he would “slit her throat.”

The couple took off in what is believed to be a white, four-door SUV.

The man and woman were wearing all black clothing and ski masks.

No one was injured in the incident.
