Warren Family Mission brings Easter early

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — About 1,500 people enjoyed an early Easter meal on Saturday, thanks to the Warren Family Mission.

The annual event was held a day early so folks could spend the holiday with family.

However, that didn’t slow down the diners. About 1,000 people filed in to the Mission’s Elm Road location.

Another 500 people who couldn’t make it to the dinner had their meal delivered.

It cost organizers from $4 to $5 per person to put the event on. But they said to hear them talk was worth it.

“This is great cause a lot of kids wouldn’t get an Easter basket unless we gave it to them, families are struggling just to feed them let alone give them extra things in life so they’re so happy, they’re coming here and just enjoying a fun time,” said Cheryl Parsons of the Warren Family Mission.

In addition to the dinner, for each kid who showed up there was an Easter basket waiting for them on the way out.
