Happy Easter comes to the valley Rescue Mission

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Volunteers made sure that kids at the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley got a happy Easter.

They put together baskets full of treats and helped the children decorate eggs.

Animal Charity also brought along a few shelter pups for the kids to play with.

Jason Cooke has been volunteering at the mission on Easter for the last four years.

He says he does it to help bring smiles to the kids’ faces.

“I think its important for people to realize that kids have a nice holiday and that they know that there are people that are looking out for them, and it’s a lot fo fun and I get a lot of enjoyment out of it and see by all the excitement they do as well,” said Jason Cooke.

Volunteers also put together some fun activities for the kids at Christmastime.
