Rescue Mission Needs don’t stop during summer months

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Officials at the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley are thanking people for their generous donations during the winter.

But say they still need help during the summer months too.

Development Director Lynn Wyant says 75-percent of the mission’s donations and income comes in during the holidays– but they have financial needs all year round.  Wyant says even simple donations, such as a bus ticket or peanut butter and jelly, really goes a long way.

“We have the bills that happen all throughout the year, we need to pay the electric bill, and the lights and it’s really expensive to run this place so with the community’s generosity and people giving us donations all through the year, we really can help that financial dip in the summer when things can kind of get tight around here,” said Lynn Wyan, Devvelopment Director.

Wyant says they’re also always looking for volunteers.
