Akron announces Tressel as presidential finalist

AKRON, Ohio (WKBN) — The University of Akron announced Tuesday the three finalists, including Jim Tressel, in its search for a new president.

Tressel is currently working as the Vice President for Student Success at Akron.

Akron’s Board of Trustees decided on the three finalists. A slew of school administrators will interview each finalist during their day on campus, and each will appear at a public forum.

Interviews begin for new YSU President

The other two finalists are Ronald Nykiel, VP of Academic Affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Scott Scarborough, Provost and Executive VP of Academic Affairs at the University of Toledo.

“We are delighted to announce the three finalists selected by The University of Akron’s Board of Trustees through the presidential search process,” a school news release said.
