Trumbull seeks summer youth workers

Trumbull County summer youth employment program

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Starting next month, Trumbull County will accept applications for its summer youth job program.

The Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services received $753,000 from the state to hire 325 area youths between 15 and 24. The program runs for 11 weeks this summer and includes cutting grass, painting and other duties.

“It gives them the opportunity to not only receive income, but also for their self-esteem, working and seeing how it is to be out there in the real world. And hopefully they will be in a job they find useful for them and maybe that will be a career for them later on,” said JFS Director John Gargano.

The jobs pay $8 an hour for 30 hours a week. There are certain requirements that must be met.
