Steakhouse supports Sojourner House

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman’s newest restaurant has only been open a few weeks, but it’s already making a humanitarian impact in the local area.

Texas Roadhouse presented a check today to the Sojourner House in the amount of $4,498. The money was raised during an invitation-only event the restaurant held to train staff.

Guest received a free dinner and all tips and alcohol sales were donated to the Domestic Violence Shelter.

“It is important to me personally to build relationships in the community,” said Managing Partner Jessica Balton. “Texas Roadhouse is a growing restaurant and we are all new to the Boardman area, and we love to find organizations we can build a partnership with and continue to grow through the years while in Boardman.”

Sojourner House is the only emergency shelter in Mahoning County. Wednesday’s donation will fund general operations at the facility for nearly a month.
