West Branch edges Alliance

ALLIANCE, Ohio – West Branch edged Alliance 4-3 to get above .500 with their 6-5 record overall. The Warriors improved to 5-2 in the Northeast Buckeye Conference. Jeff Vizzuso and Kip DeShields combined to tame the Aviators’ bats. Vizzuso’s record stands at 2-1 now. DeShields, who notched the save, helped his own cause by accumulating two base hits.

Alliance has dropped seven consecutive games to fall to 6-8 overall and 3-3 in league play. Junior Josh Hammerton tossed a complete game. The Aviators were able to only manage 4 hits which included 2 by Tyler Copeland.

The Warriors will meet Canfield on Wednesday while the Aviators will host Carrollton.
