A Boardman, Ohio man is charged with vehicular homicide in the death of his friend.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A Poland man involved in a police chase last month was indicted Thursday by a Mahoning County grand jury.

Charles Ramsey, 38, was indicted on felony counts of heroin possession and failure to comply. He posted bond following his initial arrest March 8 and has not yet been arrested on the indictment.

According to police reports, Ramsey was observed swerving outside the lanes while driving on South Avenue near Walker Mill Road in Boardman about 1 a.m. March 8. Boardman police attempted to pull him over, but he did not stop and a chase ensued into Springfield Township, where Springfield police took over the chase.

The chase ended when the driver, later identified as Ramsey, crashed into a ditch on state Route 170 near Springfield High School.

According to police, beer bottles and prescription medication bottles were found inside the truck Ramsey was driving.
