Rescue Mission undergoes new branding effort

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley unveiled its new branding efforts on Thursday.

Complete with a new logo, website, commercials and designs, officials hope the mission’s new theme of “the new way to a better tomorrow” will have a renewed emphasis on transforming the lives of their clients through education, job readiness and guidance. The mission’s executive director, Jim Echement, calls it an investment in the future.

“The return on this rather small investment that we have made in this project is going to bear fruit for years to come and will far outweigh anything that we could have possibly spent,” Echement said. “It was time. We needed something that talked about a new beginning, a new energizing of God’s work here at the mission and just to take everything off the table, make it all new.”

The new branding also includes new ways to give through the better tomorrow team, making it easier for people to contribute online.

Farris Marketing helped the Rescue Mission come up with the new brand.

“It was not something we worked on by ourselves. We worked with the Rescue Mission. A lot of the inspiration came from them for all of the components. Just the final revision and final execution was done by us,” said Farris Marketing CEO George Farris.

The work began about five months ago.

“It’s important to give back and we think that if you’re doing something for the mission it shouldn’t be something that’s a profit-making thing. We try to do everything we can for them and try to do things at cost,” Farris said.
