Car crashes into Boardman eatery

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — A customer at Ghossain’s Mid-East Bakery hit the wrong pedal Friday morning and crashed into part of the brick building.

The impact knocked the counter off its foundation a few inches, but no glass was broken and no one was hurt. An employee talked about what it sounded like when the accident happened.

“I literally thought a bomb had gone off and that’s when we all came running to the front of the store. One of our retail girls was in the front of the store when it happened and she was able to get out of the way. She had no idea what was going on,” said Melissa Poland.

The bakery roped off the area and continued to serve customers.
