Memorable Meals features Valley’s top restauraunts

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The community had a chance to taste food from some of the best restaurants across the Valley at an event in downtown Youngstown on Sunday.

The Historical Society and Grow Youngstown partnered for the Memorable Meals of Mahoning Valley event at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center.

People sampled food from some of the Valley’s most popular restaurants, and even some restaurants that are no longer in business. Area wineries and breweries from the area were also there handing out samples

This was the first year for the Memorable Meals event.

“People associate food with their families and their community. And, the Youngstown area, we’ve got a lot of classic dishes, that people really relate to this area,” said Leann Rich of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Grow Youngstown’s local agriculture programs, as well as the Historical Society’s exhibit and outreach programs.
