Volunteers seek body of missing Ohio boy, 4

Police investigation

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) – Local volunteers in Dayton say they plan to continue helping police search this week for a 4-year-old boy missing since last month.

The Dayton Daily News reports (bit.ly/1kc2G5U) about a dozen volunteers searched the Stillwater River area Sunday for Zaden McKnight. Police believe the boy is dead and volunteers say they want to bring his body back to his family.

McKnight and his mother, 25-year-old Nichelle McKnight, disappeared last month. Dayton police found the mother’s body April 11 on an embankment in Harrison Township with two gunshot wounds to the head.

The newspaper reports police have centered their search on that location and areas where two suspects in the shooting may have had access.

A volunteer says they looked for tracks, footprints and breaks in the bushes along the trails.
